Events Outside the Squadron

CAP is organized into a hierarchical structure, and every level of that structure is able to hold activities, many of which are open members of subordinate units, or even to all members, no matter where they're from!

Types of Units
Squadron - Local unit. Analogous to Boy Scout troops,
nearly all cadets are assigned to a squadron.
Group - Five or more local units. Usually geographic.
Wing - A Wing covers a state, and all units in that state.
Region - CAP's 52 Wings are organized into 8 regions.
NHQ - National Headquarters.

Some of the most exciting events CAP offers are hosted at the Wing, Region, and National levels, so be sure to check out the CAP Activities Page for descriptions of: Encampments, Leadership Courses, Operations Training, Flight Training, National Cadet Special Activities, and more!
