Cadet Matt Skelton Earns Eaker Award

Congratulations to Cadet Lt Col Matt Skelton on receiving the General Ira C. Eaker Award this week. C/Lt Col Skelton has been a member of Overlake Squadron CAP for over 4 years and is currently the squadron C/XO. He has numerous achieveme
nts to his credit including;

Staffed 2 WAWG summer encampments, cadet commander at the 2013 Arlington Fly-In, graduate of CAWG Cadet Officer Basic Course 2013, AFA Unit Cadet Officer of the Year 2013, and he is traveling to Great Britain this summer with the International Air Cadet Exchange program. 

C/Lt Col Skelton will also attend the Pararescue & Survival Orientation Course (PJOC) at Kirtland AFB this summer.

Matt graduates from LWHS next month with a very high GPA and is a varsity track athlete.

The award was presented by CPT Scott McMahan, US Army, himself a former Overlake cadet commander and holder of the Eaker Award.
